SENIOR JAVA DEVELOPER

Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer who is experienced with program design and can effectively mentor a programming staff to follow best practices. The successful candidate will be able to consistently set and meet timelines for programming assignments, eagerly take on our most challenging projects, as well as help resolve problems reported.

Responsibilities:

• Perform senior-level Java/SQL programming on small and large assignments
• Lead and/or participate in multi-resource projects
• Evaluate/suggest industry standard tools and methods
• Define a scope of work based on client requests
• Construct project resource/timing budgets to ensure timely delivery of commitments
• Utilize experience and model work ethic to mentor and assist fellow programmers

Required Skills:

• 5+ years Java programming
• 3+ years SQL and Unix Shell
• Excellent communications
• Ability to work well independently and lead by example
• C programming a BIG plus
• Cognos Transformer experience a BIG plus
• Familiarity with Solaris operating environment a plus
• Retail/business background a plus
